'Welcome to My Strangers'
Seek the silent quarters where
the dark ones dwell
Where shadowy spectres call
their own
Where phantoms of another time
occupy their thrones
And lesions haunt the living in
their homes
In those quiet corners are
things you wouldn't know
Inflictions which lie buried from many years ago
Shadows treading softly that you cannot see
Inflictions which lie buried from many years ago
Shadows treading softly that you cannot see
Which bludgeon heavily where you
cannot feel
Your demons are your strangers,
your long forgotten you
Who occupy your mind set and
colour your world view
They're broken shards of
something wedged inside your soul
Lost to present memory, destined
to control
But stillness breathes their
presence and reacquaints the lost
As wounded, damaged fragments
splintered by the past
Stillness bids them enter into a
brighter sphere
Where shadows can deminish and
meaning become more clear
Welcome to my strangers, those
tormented parts of me
Welcome to the wounded and the
incomplete
Welcome to my fury, the anger
and the rage
Welcome to low self-esteem that
blocks the turning page
Welcome to me just as I am - I
have done nothing wrong
Welcome to the highs and lows –
the whole damn painful song
Welcome
to my
blueprint and how it will unfold
Welcome
to my strangers – the uniqueness of my life
